Abai is an outstanding Kazakh sage of the world . Abai’s talent showed itself in many of his poetic works and  his “ Words of wisdom” written in prose. The great Kazakh poet became the founder of the Kazakh written literature of a new realistic and democratic direction and the Kazakh literary language. From his own experience of self-educational reading, the great thinker was convinced  that it is  possibly  to get knowledge, it is possibly to include to  universal intercultural communication  by means of reading .

In his works, Abai  propagandized such important and topical values as hard work, love of knowledge, kindness and wisdom. Abai’s legacy is a spiritual wealth that has absorbed all the ancient wisdom of the Kazakh people. Abai is modern, his thoughts are still topical. His works unite people of all ages, religions, nationalities, are translated into dozens of languages of the world.

August 10 is the birthday of the great poet, humanist, world thinker Abai Kunanbayev (1845-1904). The 175th anniversary of the birth of Abai is celebrated under the aegis  of UNESCO.
